Interesting. It reminded me of performing in the Adrienne (now Interact Theater) when we had to improv around set pieces for other plays going on. We did so tonight because the stage is dressed for the 8 Reindeer Monologues.

I thought our set was fairly tight. The giant post in the center of the room put me off a little, but the group seem to roll with it and the audience seemed to like it. We couldn't help but slip into a Christmas scene by the end. Kent and I did a scene about a simple husband and his quest to build a bbq. Dan and Jay did a scene about two mail carriers, one who supports Christmas because it is a lie and the other that eventually invents Truthmas, a new holiday to replace it. Other moments included a rock band called "The Rushmores" made up of guys dressed up like presidents and a series of mail deliveries to shut-ins in North Bucks County.

The 8 Reindeer Monologues is interesting if you haven't seen it. The actors were all very awesome in it. Dan Rich almost steals the show! I don't want to give away too much, but the monologues are from the reindeers and they talk alot about Santa and the elves. Not for the kiddies though. I think the monologues are about 90 minutes total, but it zips right along. A good sign for any entertainment thingee.

I'd say we definitely had a good show, and I think our shows there will just get better, especially as we get more used to working with the space. And Dan Rich was awesome in the Reindeer Monologues. I also liked Prancer. He was cute. And Comet. He was the Spanish reindeer, yes?

I was quite pleased with our show. In fact, as Tony is aware, I realized this morning even more about the show that I really liked. Most importantly (for someone like myself who likes external approval) the audience seemed to pretty much like the show.

As for me personally, though I liked Dan and I's scene very much...I see how I could have made our game more about our relationship and how I perhaps could have heightened the situation more in the 3rd beat. All good stuff to work on for next week.

I agree completely with Tony about the 8 monos. Great acting, especially by Dan R. I think I'll need to watch it one more time to decide exactly what the hell was going on there! Dark, to say the least.

Great to hear you guys had such a good show! I'm really, really hoping to be able to perform at next weeks show, it's possible but I can't say for sure right now.

Around 8 last night, as I was eating in a 4 star resturant, drinking a few too many glasses of wine, laughing with my co-workers, I was thinking of you guys. No, really, I really was, truthfully I was.

Nice, Tim!

Yeah, I thought Dan and Jay had a really strong scene. Very focused and it developed well and finished at its peak.

Of course you get a door prize, Dan!
Now, what kind of wood do you like? FOR YOUR DOOR! har!

BTW, Mr D and I were wondering, was the bit where you knocked over the martini glass part of it, or did you improv the drink lapping? Inquiring minds want to know! :)

Both shows were great - I just wish I wasn't filiming so much of the post!
oh well.
