Once a week I'm going to keep posting my appreciation for people, weapons, tv etc until I get told to stop or get too drunk and forget.

This week:

Nothing says bad ass then a giant red and white Kenworth with a chimp as your sidekick. Throw in a handful of hot babes and incompitent police and you have pure gold dipped in awesome. 7 lady truckers? Why the fuck not, just as long as they look like TV truckers and not real ones.

That is why I salute BJ and the Bear. I was between 3-5 when this thing ran orginally and I can still sing the lyrics to the theme song. That is how much it warped my mind.

Look at that pimp ass fucking monkey!!!

And from my personal collection:

Hey there where ya goin',
Not exactly knowin'
Who says you have to call just one place home.
He's goin' everywhere,
B.J. McKay and his best friend Bear.

He just keeps on movin',
Ladies keep improvin'
Every day is better than the last.
New dreams and better scenes,
And best of all I don't pay property tax.

Rollin' down to Dallas,
Who's providin' my palace,
Off to New Orleans or who knows where.
Places new and ladies, too,
I'm B.J. McKay and this is my best friend Bear.

As an addition to this salute, the story of the autograph.

Greg Evigan was at a local con here in Orlando and Catacomb was unable to make it in time to meet him. So he talked a female friend of ours to get him the autograph with the instructions to have Greg sign it "Fucking Monkey". Well after walking up to Greg our patsy told him what to sign. Greg's handler got this wide eyed look and told her that there was no way that Greg could sign it that way. Without missing a beat Greg grabbed the picture and said "It's what the fans want, it's what the fans get!". Cool cat that Greg Evigan.

Obviously BJ and the Bear got launched due to the trucker craze started by the song Convoy. But both the Convoy song and movie have a serious lack of monkeys that I find disrepectful.
