Smart zombies. No matter where you hole up, they can figure out where you are and how to get you out in the open.

I have a big problem with the running zombies from a purely pragmatic stand point. How could they run? With their muscles decaying it doesn't make any sense to me. The shambling ones seem more real. I also think it's a lot more dramatic because they lull you into a false sense of security.

I would have to agree with Tony on this one.. The shambling walking zombies lure you into a false state of security. I mean, it seems like they are virtually harmless, they walk, moaning(sometimes), arms out, staggering around... But if you think about it, in that state, you'd think, oh i can get close, so if i'm trapped in a corner, ill just kinda duck under that zombie.. but BAM, there's like 30 more behind him.. becuase they always seem to walk around in packs.. the running kind just kind of run away from you, and the smart zombies just, to me at least, dont exist... Their brain is dead, decaying.. how can they be smart?? at the stage of being a zombie, it's purely instinctual... retarded caveman-eske

The smart zombies eat brains to keep their brains running! Why did you think they ate brains?

First off the Running kind are not only more physically dominate but also mentally ...maybe not as much as the thinking zombies...but if we remember in dawn of the dead remake...in the parking garage where on zombie had no legs...was using his arms to climb the rafters and jump on the sholder of the rent a cop and eat him alive....now i dont know about you guys...but i think we should worry more about these runners

How about 'cheating unkillable @*$%&&^' zombies? Aka return of the living dead, but emphasising a different aspect. For that matter, they also run, use tools, and will use a radio to bring more victims to the party.
Shamblers just don't do it for me anymore. I blame Shaun of the Dead for that.

Yeah, the brain-eating kind. A little too powerful if you ask me. I will always subscribe to the shamblers because it's not really the zombies that get you, it's yourself. The moment you let down your guard, bam, you're meat.
