It's been a while, but Ira and I are very upset by these torture memos and that Obama seems to be letting everyone of the hook. I wonder if he found one of his kids torturing an animal, would he be so willing to put it behind him and just look ahead. Thus today's strip.

I think Obama still has some faint hope of getting re-elected, and he prolly figures that bringing the former Prez up on charges will finish that off.

Speaking of Obama, do you think the Chicago graveyards voted for him?

Nah, that's too crude a ploy these days. The Dems have it easy if they can just keep their voters on the roll. Dems outnumber Republicans by a good margin, but Dems tend not to vote.

Come on, why'd they bother to brief her if they weren't gonna do it?

They briefed Nancy for the same reason Nancy voted for the money to keep the war going. Their "arguments" are a dog and pony show. The only real arguments people in Congress have is over how much money their district is getting. If Pelosi gave a shit about the rule of law, they never would've made her Speaker. This is a woman who collapsed like a house of cards on the Iran issue.

Before the election, she was pushing a bill that would make President Bush have to go to Congress if he tried to expand the war to Iran. After one visit to AIPAC (The American Israeli Political Action Committee) she got booed and went right back and took that clause out of the bill. Her priorities are that money for her campaign and damn anything else. Just like the rest of Congress, she only has strong opinions about things that won't effect her re-election campaign. And, sadly, she represents San Francisco, supposedly the epicenter of liberal thinking.

She's no better than Congresswoman Harman, who would sell out her constituents for a spot on a committee. That's the real priority of Congress. Themselves. Pathetic.

Then she should have thought of a better lie.
