So I was thinking yesterday (don't blame the cough medicine, really) about the show Amazing Race. For those that haven't seen it, wikipedia describes it as: "The Amazing Race is a reality television game show in which teams race around the world in competition with other teams. Contestants strive to arrive first at the end of each leg of the race to avoid the possibility of elimination. Teams are progressively eliminated until three teams are left; at that point, the team which arrives first in the final leg is awarded a large cash grand prize...Contestants travel to and within multiple countries in a variety of transportation modes, including planes, taxis, rental cars, trains and boats. The clues in each leg point the teams to the next destination or direct them to perform a task, either together or by a single member. Each task showcases the geographic region or indigenous culture and customs it is held in. If a team is in last place at the end of a leg of the race, they may be forced to stop competing or have a significant disadvantage in the following leg."
What if cartoon characters did it? (here's where the cough medicine kicks in, see...)
Based on my thinking that the teams had to be "people", living in fairly present day (thus ruling out the Flintstones) to be able to validate understanding and usage of modern technology (despite any job *ahem* Homer *ahem* ineptitudes, there's still a basic understanding)...
So, I thought, what teams could there be?
Homer and Marge Simpson (The Simpsons)
Hank and Peggy Hill (King of the Hill)
Stan and Francine Smith (American Dad)
Peter and Lois Griffin (Family Guy)
Ok then, what about alternates?
Lenny and Karl (The Simpsons)
Kahn and Minh Souphanousinphone (King of the Hill)
Steve and Hayley Smith (American Dad)
Joe and Bonnie Swanson (Family Guy)
So- the question I pose to you all!
Who out of these 8 groups would have the best chance at WINNING The Amazing Race?
Show your work!
(or if everyone would rather, I could make a poll. But I'm curious. And sick. Humour me?
